Zurich Music Festival (ZMF) is an international platform that focuses on contemporary academic music from the late 20th century to the early 21st century in comparison with the classical music canon of previous centuries. Each year, the festival aims to present composers, ensembles, and performers from Switzerland and across Europe, who will perform unique pieces that speak the silent language of modernity.
For 2025, the Zurich Music Festival has conceptually chosen the theme “Verkannte Musik”, which highlights composers and works of the 20th and 21st centuries that, for various reasons, are either unjustly rarely performed by contemporary musicians, yet in our view are comparable in emotional and intellectual power to the classical repertoire.
The first edition of the festival, curated by Verein CosmoKultur, will take place October 14-29, 2025, at the Augustinerkirche in Zurich
